The theme for this year’s North Idaho Fair and Rodeo
is “Cream of the Crop.” The five county regional fair
will be held August 22-26 at the
Kootenai County Fairgrounds, Coeur d’Alene.
The fair has new hours this year. Gates will open daily at 9 a.m.
Exhibit buildings will be open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.,
and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adult admission for 13 and over is $7; Youth, 6-12 is $3;
and five and under are free. Admission for seniors 60 plus is specially priced
at $5.50 on Wednesday and Saturday only. Parking is $3 daily with a five day
parking pass sold for $7.50. Advanced tickets will be on sale June 1 at a reduced cost.
Entry rules for exhibits are listed in the 2007 Exhibitor’s Handbook which is now posted
on the fair’s website. Printed copies will be distributed to local retail outlets by the end
of May.
The five day event boasts a safe, family-oriented atmosphere with thousands of
competitive exhibits in home arts departments, vegetables, field crops, flowers, livestock,
and 4-H. There are unique foods to delight any palate, carnival rides, and quality
entertainment including local favorite, Kelly Hughes. Arena events include
Draft Horse Show and Pull, Motocross, PRCA Rodeo, and Demolition Derby.
The Kootenai County Fairgrounds is located four miles north of
downtown Coeur d'Alene at 4056 North Government Way.
